AVATIL
respects the fundamental rights of intellectually handicapped adults
to be recognized as equal members of society, and promotes their
integration into the mainstream. We believe that our clients have
the right to receive the support they need to become contributing
members of society. They have the right to experience the challenges
and opportunities that will enrich their lives.
Our purpose
is to offer one-stop community-based services, including support
networks for those living on their own, and residential alternatives
for those requiring a structured living situation. We encourage
personal and social development through our programs, provide emotional
support and job assistance, and foster community acceptance.
| Those
on the borderline of intellectual deficiency often escape identification,
yet remain at risk in society. They must cope not only
with diminished learning and living skills, but suffer the pain
of personal conflict, low self-esteem, exploitation by others,
loneliness and anger. |
