SUMMARY OF OBJECTIVES
- FINANCES: AVATIL continues to be financially healthy as an organization. In addition to government sources, it aims to diversify its financial resources.
- Ensure AVATIL meets current and new criteria for PSOC funding eligibility
- Determine fundraising objectives for the building renovation project and find alternate sources of funding for project.
- Explore possibilities for diversification of revenues, including contracts and foundations.
- PROGRAMS: AVATIL pursues programs that continue to favour social development, community integration and reduced isolation.
- Services to individuals on the autism spectrum: Explore feasibility of building on existing services (discussion group) and the longer-term expansion of services to this clientele.
- Explore potential to offer services differently in the context of a new configuration of space following the building renovation project.
- Evaluate programs and services, and in particular, the increased support needs of an aging clientele that receives community support services.
- Review admissions process and timeline for an applicant to be accepted in order to make the process more efficient.
- BUILDING RENOVATION PROJECT: AVATIL is developing a welcoming space for its activities and transitional living program, rooted in the life of the community. It offers an attractive and inclusive space and secure accessibility to all.
- Once building permits are received, complete the building renovation project in two phases, over a two-year period, beginning in 2020.
- INVOLVEMENT: AVATIL favors a collaborative culture through consolidating alliances, extending networks and forging partnerships.
- Involve members in the AVATIL community and include the participation of clients.
- Include family members as an integral part of the network of support to clients.
- Revise mission, vision and values to ensure it reflects the involvement of various members within and outside the AVATIL community.
- Communicate AVATIL Best Practices to the AVATIL community.
- Continue to build partnerships outside the AVATIL community.
